Year 6 – Tennis
This term, Year 6 practised their tennis skills in a fun and engaging way by using balloons in their training. The soft, slow-moving balloons helped them focus on hand-eye coordination, control, and timing without the pressure of a fast-moving ball. They worked on technique, learning to position themselves correctly and strike with accuracy. This creative approach built their confidence and encouraged teamwork and communication as they practised rallies and footwork in a relaxed setting.
Year 5 – Outdoor Adventurous Activity
Year 5 focused on adapting their routes when encountering obstacles and revising their plans when presented with new information. They discussed why these skills are important in real life. The children enjoyed mapping out their courses and strategising the best way to reach their goals, which involved teamwork and collaboration.
Year 4 – Gymnastics
This term, Year 4 focused on controlling their body movements in gymnastics. Working with partners, they created, repeated, and refined sequences with at least three phases, incorporating a range of body shapes and maintaining control throughout.
Year 3 – Handball
This term, Year 3 enjoyed learning a new sport: handball. They practised throwing and catching skills under light pressure before applying them in game situations. They also focused on creating space and providing support for their teammates.
