The Little Birds were excited to return to Nursery following the half-term break. They spoke about the outings and celebrations shared with their family and friends, including Diwali and firework night.
Here we are talking to our friends about fireworks, reflecting on the colours, sounds and shapes they were. Little Birds made firework patterns using coloured sticks. Little Birds also made firework paintings using lolly sticks to paint with. Some of the Little Birds recalled that the fireworks went “bang, bang”.
We listened to the story of “Rama and Sita” at circle time and learnt about the Festival of Lights and Diwali. Some of the Little Birds told their friend about Diwali at whole class time, speaking about the world in which they live.
Using fine motor skills, the children threaded pasta onto pipe cleaners making Diwali garlands, necklaces and bracelets. They also made Rangoli patterns using rice and paint.
The Little Birds listened to the story ‘Flash, Bang, Whee’. They spoke about their own experiences of attending firework displays with their family members. Little Birds recalled their feelings, developing their emotions, and communication.
