We are THRILLED to have once again been awarded, ‘The Wellbeing Award for Schools’ in recognition of our ongoing commitment to the wellbeing of all our children and staff.
The accreditor noted the following further enhancements since our last inspection:
- The wellbeing strategy underpins the school’s commitment to Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (EWMH) and this was fully backed up by the stakeholders.
- Every classroom has attractive and accessible information about safeguarding and wellbeing.
- The playground spaces are carefully zoned with areas for nurture groups, quiet reading and play.
- Teaching Assistants and members of staff are on hand during lunch play to support children and provide that through link to the rest of the school day.
- The teaching staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about EWMH.
- This team approach across the school is such a strength. The staff are passionate about wellbeing and there are a range of approaches to ensure that the approach is carefully and thoughtfully tailored to individual circumstances and needs.
- Parents spoke really warmly about the individualised support they experience with their own children, whether that’s support in the classroom or open communication between school and home.
- The pupils are also proud of their school and fully understand how wellbeing and attainment go together. They know who they can talk to if they have worries and how to support their classmates and friends.
- The wellbeing link governor recognises how hard the school works to support all families and is proud of the school where everyone is a ‘piece in the jigsaw.’ This sums up the LAD approach perfectly.
- There is a real sense of EWMH being at the heart of everything that LAD does and this can be seen through the school environment, the relationships in school and the enthusiasm and expertise of staff.
- All stakeholders understand and respect the school’s approach to EWMH. All understand that this is the ‘LAD Way’ and that kindness underpins everything in school.
We are incredibly proud of our child and our team and will continue to do all that we can to promote their health and wellbeing to enable them to become. ‘Determined, Persistent Achievers, Learning to Change the World’.
