What happened in the story of Chapatti Moon?

This week Little Birds have been looking at the story of ‘Chapatti Moon’.

The children tasted chapatti and different types of bread. They used their senses to explore the breads and recalled about the flavours and textures developing their communication skills.

Throughout the week we referred to our chosen story ‘Chappati Moom’ and talked about what happened in the story.

Some children enjoyed sharing the story book with their friends in the book area.

Little Birds spoke about healthy and unhealthy foods in a smaller focus group. Sorting real food into two groups on trays.

Following the Little Birds’ interest and enjoyment in singing and reciting the currant bun song, the practitioners changed the words to ‘Five Chapattis in a baker’s shop’.

This helped to develop our counting skills within 5.

The Little birds made chapati’s from playdough, using their finer physical skills and rolling pins to shape the dough into circles.
