This week in the Nursery, Little Birds have been very excited to see the tree up in the home corner and enjoyed decorating it.
Some of us made our own decorations for the tree and enjoyed sharing our own experiences of Christmas and other celebrations at home.
Little Birds wrote their cards practising their writing skills and supporting their name recognition.
We looked at the book ‘Little Glow’ and listened to the story throughout the week.
We talked day by day about the illustrations and made connections to our home lives. Looking at different forms of light, fireworks, candles and Christmas lights for example.
This developed our communication and language skills as well as an understanding of the world around us.
They decorated their own candles using collage materials.

Little Birds explored the battery candles, and we spoke about the safety around flames and fire.
Some of us sang a song with the practitioners about ‘5 candles burning so bright’ using the resources.
