What a memorable day we had at our LAD community picnic this afternoon. Under sunny skies, our families and staff came together for a wonderful afternoon filled with food and fun.
As part of the event, we also marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day — a significant moment in British history, commemorating the end of World War II in Europe. To honour this occasion, students across all year groups took part in a special VE Day craft project in their classrooms. They had the choice to colour in British flags, make bunting or design a war medal among other exciting activities.
The event was not only a chance to enjoy each other’s company and the outdoors, but also a moment to learn, remember and reflect together.
We’d like to thank all the families who came along and supported the event, the staff who organised and helped run the day and most importantly, our brilliant students who took part with such enthusiasm and respect.
Here’s to many more community days like this. We would like to wish you all a very safe, restful and happy half term holiday and we look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 2nd June for the last module of this academic year!
