Handball Tournament

Nine talented Year 3 and 4 students from Leigh Academy Dartford (LAD) travelled to Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy to take part in an exciting handball tournament. The team played exceptionally well, demonstrating fantastic teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Match Results

  1. Sutton 4 – 4 LAD: A closely fought opening game saw LAD battle hard to earn a well-deserved draw against a strong Sutton side.
  2. Brent 1 – 10 LAD: LAD put on a dominant display, controlling the game from start to finish and securing a convincing victory.
  3. Joydens Wood 4 – 5 LAD: A nail-biting encounter saw LAD edge past Joydens in a tense match, showing great determination to hold onto their lead.
  4. Sutton at Hone 4 – 5 LAD: The rematch against Sutton was another tight contest, but LAD’s teamwork and persistence saw them take the win.
  5. Brent 2 – 7 LAD: Another strong performance from LAD, who combined solid defence with clinical attacking play to claim a comfortable victory.
  6. Joydens Wood 4 – 7 LAD: The final game of the tournament saw LAD finish on a high, playing with confidence and energy to round off an excellent day.

Overall Performance

The team’s performance was outstanding, with every player contributing to their success. Their defensive work was solid, their attacking play was creative and their teamwork was exceptional. The sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament was a credit to the school, with players encouraging teammates and showing respect to opponents.

With an unbeaten record across all six matches, LAD were crowned tournament champions—an incredible achievement for the young team. A huge well done to all the players for their effort and dedication. Leigh Academy Dartford can be proud of their young handball stars!
