Module 1 Year 1 and 2 PE

Children partaking in PE

Year 1 Module 1 – Fundamental Movement Skills

In this unit, the children have been honing their footwork and one-leg balances through a variety of engaging activities. They’ve been building these important physical skills, not only through focused practice sessions, but also through imaginative stories and interactive games that make learning fun and dynamic. These experiences are helping them develop coordination, strength, and confidence in their movements.

Year 2 – Term 1 – Fundamental Movement Skills

In Year 2, children have been making great strides in their physical development by actively copying, repeating, and exploring different movements during PE lessons. They’ve been watching demonstrations of skills like throwing, jumping and balancing before copying these actions with impressive accuracy. Through consistent practice, they are remembering these movements and gradually improving their technique.

Repetition has been key—whether it’s perfecting their throwing skills or learning to move in time with music during dance. By engaging in fun games and activities, the children have been eager to explore new physical challenges, building their strength, balance, and coordination along the way.
