Reception
The children have focused on different dances from around the world. They have explored African dancing, Irish dancing, Spanish Dancing, Indian Dancing and Chinese Dancing. They have been looking at how to move fluently and with control.

Year 1
The children learned key movement skills by watching and copying their friends, practising movements repeatedly and improving their control and coordination through playful activities. They observed how others moved carefully and safely, then tried to do the same, developing confidence and skill over time.

Year 2
The children have learned gymnastics skills by planning and practising sequences of movements and exploring different ways to add contrast and control. They experimented with creating routines that followed set rules, working both independently and with partners to develop and refine their performances.

Year 3
In Year 3, the children have been focusing on Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA). These lessons are designed to foster teamwork and communication as the children work together to recreate maps and follow given directions. The students have demonstrated impressive patience and collaboration while completing their maps. Throughout the activities, we’ve placed a strong emphasis on problem-solving, encouraging teams to work together effectively, ensuring everyone contributes and has a chance to participate. The children’s ability to cooperate and support one another has been outstanding.

Year 4
In Year 4, the students have been honing their ball accuracy during their Tri-Golf PE lessons, working hard to improve both precision and control. In addition to these skills, they’ve placed a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, learning how to effectively work together in teams. The students have also explored the importance of warming up and cooling down before and after each PE lesson. They shared their thoughts and collaboratively generated various warm-up and cool-down routines. Lastly, the children discussed the benefits of staying fit, understanding how physical activity positively impacts both their physical and mental well-being.

Year 5
In Year 5, the children have been excelling in their ability to throw and catch a volleyball with precision, while seamlessly incorporating running and jumping into their movements. These skills are essential for volleyball, and the students have gained strong confidence in their ability to execute them effectively. Additionally, the children have demonstrated impressive control during takeoff and landing in jumps, all while maintaining focus on the ball.

Year 6
In Year 6, the students had the exciting opportunity to learn a new sport—table tennis! They collaborated in small groups to form doubles teams, where communication played a crucial role in their success. Working closely with a partner, they quickly learned the importance of coordination and strategy to play effectively. Throughout the lessons, the children applied their skills, techniques, and creative ideas consistently, making remarkable progress. By the end of the sequence, they showed significant improvement in their precision, control, and fluency with both the table tennis bats and balls.
