Dear parents and carers
RE: new Principal at Leigh Academy Dartford.
Miss Roberts is relocating with her family to a different part of the country. This means we have recruited a new Principal to replace her from September. In her time as Principal at Leigh Academy Dartford (LAD), Miss Roberts’ leadership has had a transformational impact. The academy is very heavily over-subscribed on first preferences for places in year R, is judged “outstanding” in all areas by Ofsted and has been Kent’s top performing primary for the last two years running. On top of this, LAD is placed in the top 1% of schools in the country for its performance. This is a phenomenal set of achievements. Miss Roberts will be very greatly missed.
However, the good news is that Miss Roberts’ replacement as Principal is Mrs Haywood who has been her deputy in recent years and has a long service record with the academy. Mrs Haywood has been very closely involved in all developments at LAD and her appointment will ensure strong stability and continuity for pupils, parents and staff from September. She will be supported by Vice Principals, Mrs Range and Mr Filsell, who will take the academy forward to become even more successful.
