Enterprise Week 2026

The final week of term was especially exciting as we explored Enterprise.

Little Birds had fun playing shops both indoors and outdoors, buying and selling food to each other using real money.

Some children wrote their own shopping lists too.

The children made their own shop fronts from pieces of cards and pictures.

A young girl with her hair in a ponytail works at a table, using red safety scissors to cut out images from a magazine. A muffin tin nearby holds cotton swabs, and various paper scraps are scattered on a large orange sheet of craft paper.

The Little birds enjoyed making their own rice crispy cakes for enterprise week to buy with their own money.

Online Safety

During focus group time and inquiry time, the children had the opportunity to use iPads to further enhance their understanding of online safety. We also discussed this important topic as a whole class

As part of our learning, we shared several stories together:

he book cover for "The Shopping Basket" by John Burningham. It illustrates a young boy with red hair and glasses walking along a pavement, carrying a brown wicker basket filled with fruit.
The book cover for "Baby goes to Market" by Atinuke and Angela Brooksbank. It shows a mother wearing a colorful headwrap and carrying a large basket on her head while holding a smiling baby.
The cover of a digital story titled "The Adventures of Smartie the Penguin". It features two large penguins holding a green gift box with a red bow, a small penguin in a striped hat, and musical notes in the background.

Well Done, Little Birds!
