Who We Are Final week Of Term
For the final week of our first term the Little birds enjoyed talking about the different celebrations they carry out at home at various times throughout the year.
They showed photos of themselves dressed up in different cultural costumes/clothing as well as dressed up at nursery in various costumes too.
This was to celebrate Who We Are Day.

The children also spoke about where they lived, enhancing their Geography knowledge.
One child said, ‘I live in England’
Another said, ‘I live in Dartford’
Some drew pictures of their houses at Focus group time.

Signs of Autumn and Harvest
Following the children’s interests, the Little birds enjoyed collecting leaves and looking for spiders and bugs in the garden.

As an end of term activity they children iced biscuits and made spider web designs on them.
Also we spoke about the importance of Harvest time, what farmers do as jobs and harvesting fruit and vegetables. The children enjoyed cutting vegetables in the nursery mud garden, developing their finer physical skills.

The book we looked at was The Enormous Turnip which we will revisit again later in the academic year to study more.

A few children also this week were fascinated by the roles of the Practitioners/Teachers in the Nursery and they took on the role of them in their imaginative play. Showing an interest in this Career.
