This week Little Birds went on a walk in the local community to visit the Buddhist Temple. We found out information about who visits and what celebrations take place in this special place of worship.

The children were fascinated by the beautiful decorations and Buddha Statue, who the monks worship.

The Little Birds enjoyed listening to The Abbot. He then played their large gong for us to hear and listen to. They also explained about the importance of flowers and fruit as decorations.

We are so grateful to the monks for allowing us to visit and learn about their culture, thank you very much.

Back in Nursery, the children inquired about the different celebrations in the story book  Let’s Celebrate’.

Little Birds plotted a map of our journey to the Temple using cut out pictures.

Little Birds loved looking at Google Earth to recall our visit, looking at the local landmarks for example: Temple, our school and St Albans Road Church.

Some children spoke about where they lived and showed photos of their home and front doors.
