At the start of the week, Little Birds Nursery celebrated Remembrance Day. The children used different materials and resources to make poppies.
Including icing biscuits.
Little Birds discussed their importance and then, to remember the soldiers, the children observed a two minute silence.
Anti Bullying week
As part of anti bullying week, the children in Little Birds accessed various activities including matching socks on a washing line, filling socks with different resources and designing their own odd socks using collage materials. Little Birds explored and celebrated differences. Recognising we are unique. They spoke about the whole school motto of ‘Choose to be kind’.
Little Birds listened to the stories ‘Simon’s Socks’ and ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ during class time. They learnt about the characters, different feelings and how to be kind to each other.
The children looked at different feelings and emotions, relating them to scenarios in their own life and the community in which they live.
They also played instruments in various ways to express their emotions.
To end the week, Little Birds participated in tasks connected with ‘Children in Need’.
Here are some other activities they carried out for Children in need.
For our ‘Challenge 25’ the children made 25 yellow handprints for Children In Need.
What a great week we all have had.
