Before October half term on Friday 17th October 2025, we proudly celebrated our annual Who We Are Day – a special event that brought our school community together to celebrate identity, family, and belonging.
The children had the chance to express their identity with their classmates by either producing a piece of slideshow, bringing in something from home or sharing photos and videos.
One of the highlights of the day was our LAD Food Sharing Event, which returned once again thanks to the generosity and support of our wonderful parent volunteers. Families prepared and shared a wide range of delicious traditional dishes and family favourites, giving everyone a taste of the amazing diversity within our school community. From savoury snacks to sweet treats, there was something for everyone to enjoy!
The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was warm and joyful, with children, staff, and families coming together to talk, taste, and learn more about each other’s backgrounds and traditions. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces and to hear the children enjoying all the food.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents and carers who volunteered their time to prepare meals and serve them on the day. Your efforts made this event such a success and reminded us all of the strong sense of community we have here at Leigh Academy Dartford.
We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
