Learning our numbers
This week Little birds have been exploring numbers 1-5 in the environment in various ways, to enhance their mathematics.
By playing hopscotch, reciting numbers as they hopped in the squares.
Looking for hidden numbers in the oats, developing number recognition of 1-5.
Also playing the number game on the iPad, counting objects and sea creatures on the screen. Helping each other to problem solving and taking turns. Enhancing our personal and social skills.
We revisited looking at Who We Are?
Completing puzzles made of our images/ faces. The Little birds used this opportunity to communicate about their features and compare themselves with their friends in a positive way.
The children continued to use their finer skills to create images and pictures of themselves in the shaving foam.
Books we looked at this week were
‘The Three Little Pigs’ and ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’.
Making connections with family members.
