Year 3
In Year 3, the children have been enhancing their coordination skills by carefully selecting the most suitable actions, ideas and techniques to design and complete their very own obstacle courses! They worked in self-chosen groups, with self-chosen equipment, which fostered their agency and teamwork skills while also focusing on improving their balance. Afterwards, the children thoughtfully compared their courses, discussing similarities and differences with their peers and identifying ways to refine their designs. We then took it a step further, collaboratively improving and enhancing our obstacle courses to make them even better!

Year 4
In Year 4, the students have been diving into the Paralympic sport of Goalball. They’ve put in a lot of effort learning to rely on their other senses to maintain possession of the ball while wearing blindfolds. They’ve also demonstrated impressive skills in movement and finding space when not in possession, as well as adapting their strategies in response to the game’s flow. To wrap it up, they created their own small-sided games, which helped them develop strong teamwork and communication skills.

Year 5
In Year 5, students have been working hard to connect and combine their skills, techniques and ideas- applying them to different game situations with accuracy and relevance when playing netball. They have shown the ability to compare and evaluate their own skills and techniques, as well as engage in meaningful discussions with their peers. During these discussions, they offer helpful feedback and share ideas for improvement. Additionally, students have used feedback from others to improve their own performance, creating an environment of ongoing learning and growth. Through this teamwork, they have greatly improved their understanding and execution of the skills needed for these game situations.

Year 6
In Year 6, students have further developed their skills and knowledge in tag rugby, with a particular emphasis on teamwork, agility and strategic thinking. They acquired essential techniques, including passing, evasive running and tagging, while also gaining a comprehensive understanding of the game’s rules. Through targeted drills and match play, students enhanced their coordination, communication and decision-making abilities, fostering both confidence and sportsmanship. This solid foundation equips them for more competitive play and instills a lasting appreciation for the sport.
