The Little Birds were really happy to return to Nursery after their half term break. This week they have been inquiring about how animals help us and other people in different ways. First they had a provocation to complete: How could they help the lost lamb that was found in the environment?
Lots of suggestions were given as to how to solve this problem: For example ‘Take the lamb back to the farm’, ‘We need to find his mummy and daddy’ and ‘Take the lamb to the animal hospital’. This enhanced the Little Birds’ communication and listening skills.

The lamb was reunited with the sheep at the farm. Well done Little Birds- you solved the problem!
The children were excited to show pictures of their own pets on the board and speak about them to their friends during the whole class sharing time. They gave information as to how to care for them.
The Little Birds were very interested in the role of guide dogs and assistance dogs.
They carried out an activity outdoors, helping a peer who was wearing a blindfold, experiencing what it is like to be visually impaired.

Some children chose to join shaped paper together with glue making paper models of people who have various needs. Little Birds recognise that we are all unique and important.

Books that the children shared together were:
- Busy Friends, Best Friends
- Global Babies
- The Detective Dog
