Learning About Road Safety

Little Birds learned about road safety in the nursery and the important role of a crossing patrol person in helping our community.

They explored how to cross the road safely by holding an adult’s hand and remembering to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN.

The children created their own road signs using shaped paper and lolly sticks. They enjoyed using them in their play environment to inform friends about different directions and instructions to follow.

They also made their own traffic lights by collaging shaped outlines with tissue paper.

Enterprise Week

The final week of term was especially exciting as we explored Enterprise.

Little Birds had fun playing shops both indoors and outdoors, buying and selling food to each other using real money. They designed their own shop front signs and recorded their own adverts.

Online Safety

During focus group time and inquiry time, the children had the opportunity to use iPads to further enhance their understanding of online safety. We also discussed this important topic as a whole class.

As part of our learning, we shared several stories together:

Celebrating Chinese New Year

To end the term, we explored the celebration of Chinese New Year. One pupil shared their personal experiences of celebrating at home, giving the class a wonderful insight into the traditions and customs of the festival.

Well Done, Little Birds!

Have a happy and safe half-term break, Little Birds! Well done for all your achievements.
