Year 6
During their basketball session, Year 6 pupils showcased a strong range of skills, including dribbling, passing and shooting, adapting their techniques to different game situations. They demonstrated the ability to analyse and explain their choices, reflecting on their performance and making adjustments to improve.
Teamwork was a key focus, with students creating strategies, communicating effective, and several taking on leadership roles to guide their teammates during gameplay. On the court, their dribbling was precise, passes were well-timed, and shots at the basket showed increasing accuracy. Throughout the session, they worked consistently towards self-set goals, evaluating their performance against both personal and team objectives.
The pupils’ efforts reflected a clear commitment to developing their skills as well as a deeper understanding of the game. They not only enhanced their physical abilities but also fostered teamwork, strategic thinking and sportsmanship.
Year 3
Year 3 students have been working diligently to create their own dance routines. They’ve skilfully transformed their creative ideas into dynamic movements while collaborating in groups. A key focus was on developing routines with strong rhythm and energy, which was evident when the children performed their pieces.
Throughout the project, students were challenged to remember sequences and create synchronised phrases with their partners, forming mirrored routines. Effective communication and teamwork were essential throughout every lesson as they worked together to craft routines that impressed their peers, teachers, and most importantly, themselves. Each child did an incredible job!
To bring some festive cheer to their final performances, the children donned elf costume-, spreading joy and holiday spirit!
Year 4
This term, Year 4 have been honing their dance and gymnastics skills, with a strong emphasis on effective communication to work collaboratively with both partners and groups. They’ve focused on refining their movements to create smooth, fluid routines.
In addition to this, the students have incorporated a variety of shapes into their routines, adding the challenge of changing direction and speed, all while maintaining control. Listening skills have been key as they’ve followed specific guidelines that have helped them craft well-structured sequences. To further enhance their learning, they’ve observed other groups, comparing their routines to identify similarities and differences, which has supported their ability to refine and improve their own performances.
Year 5
This module, the children have been showcasing impressive gymnastics skills. They’ve demonstrated control and precision in their movements, all while following the specific guidelines set by their teachers. Both individually and in groups, they’ve created complex and extended sequences that highlight their creativity and coordination.
Year 5 students have successfully combined action, balance, and shape in their routines, ensuring their movements are accurate, clear, and consistent. Through effective communication and critical thinking, they’ve performed their routines with confidence, sharing their skills and ideas with their peers.
