On Thursday, the year 5/6 boys set off to DFC full of enthusiasm and excitement. We sized up our opposition and felt confident about going through to finals day. Our team’s journey through the tournament was nothing short of impressive, starting with a flawless group phase. Dominating all three group matches, we secured victories in each game, scoring a total of 6 goals while conceding just 1, showcasing a solid defense and an efficient attack.
With momentum on our side, the team advanced to the knockout rounds full of more confidence and enthusiasm. That energy carried us into the semifinals, where we faced a tough challenge against the team that would eventually go on to win the tournament. Despite a valiant effort, we fell short in the semifinals. It was a tough loss, but the squad’s resilience shone through.
Determined to finish on a high, the team regrouped and fought hard in the third-place playoff. Their spirit and skill were on full display as they secured a well-deserved victory, capping off an excellent tournament run with a podium finish.
Though we missed out on the ultimate prize, our performance throughout was a testament to the team’s quality and character, ending the tournament on a positive note with a third-place finish to be proud of. We now look forward to competing in the league matches and hope for an even better outcome.
